CECILIA DRINKS CELERY JUICE

Beep Beep. Cecilia’s arm reaches for the alarm, and she puts on her dressing gown and heads to Grandma’s kitchen.

“Good morning dear, would you like to try some lemon water like mine?” asked Grandma.

“That sounds awful, who drinks that stuff. Isn’t it bad for your teeth?”

Grandma places large glass of water and lemon juice in front of Cecilia and she slowly picks up the glass and takes a sip. Spit spit goes Cecilia.

“Come on dear, it’s good for you and helps to keep you hydrated and lemons are full of vitamin c and calcium.”

“Okay I’ll try and then you going to give me something to eat?” asked Cecilia.

“How about we try some celery juice? I have a good batch here and I can get more later on. You know Grandma has been feeling much better since finding Medical Medium.”

Cecilia slowly makes her way through her lemon juice until the glass is empty.

“Grandma, the more I drank the lemon juice I found my lips were wanting more.”

“Yes dear, it is a bit like that as our bodies know what we want need. Just give me a moment and I make us some fresh celery juice. I’ll choose the best stalks as the rest can go in my veggie broth for later.”

Cecilia gets up from the table and pulls the chair over to the bench where Grandma has her juicer, and the celery is cut ready in the glass container.

“How often do you have this green drink Grandma?”

            “Every day, dear.”

Grandma picks up the celery stalks and pushes them through the juicier.

“Grandma, why is that juicer so slow? Mums is fast and makes my apple juice in no time.”

“Dear, this is a special omega cold press juicer and a model designed just for squeezing out every ounce of celery, so we save money in the long run.”

            “I see.”

Grandma grabs the strainer and cup and then hands it to Cecilia to try her first celery juice. Cecilia face was full expressions from yuck, I’m not sure to, this isn’t bad.

“What do you think?” asked Grandma sipping and gargling her glass of celery juice before it starts to lose its goodness.

“Strange and cold but I’m going to get mum to buy me celery when I get home.”

“It’s a miracle drink and does wonders to our inner plumbing system, the intestines as you may call it. Grandma likes to give it a funny name.”

Cecilia drank all what her grandma gave her and requested for more. Her small body seemed to crave the salty taste and the celery was in season and a lovely light green colour.

“Sometimes the celery is hard to find a good batch as it can be bitter when it’s dark in colour and you nearly need to hold your nose when you drink it.”

“Do you think Mum will let me make it when I go home tomorrow?”

“Let me have a chat with her. Maybe I’ll send you home with some celery? How would you like that?”

Cecilia loves going to her Grandma’s as she teaches her how make things whenever she goes there.

“Now just remember celery juice must be on an empty stomach and at least 20-30minutes after your lemon juice. I’ll write it down and I’ll buy you the celery juice book for your birthday soon. You can have a go at reading it or get your mother to help you.”

Cecilia takes the last drop of her celery juice and places her glass on the sink and thanks her Grandma for sharing her secret to good health.

The following day, Cecilia fed the celery through the juicer and waited for her mother to pick her up and take her home. Grandma handed her mother a bag with cut celery for Cecilia and a notebook with some tips in it as Cecilia’s mother is going to study the Medical Medium protocols to help her family have better health.

Later that day Cecilia forgot to tell her mother that she wasn’t bloated, and she wasn’t as thirsty during the day too. I guess it was a good thing for her to drink celery juice every day now.
