Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my journey in healing, life lessons and children’s stories. Hope you have a nice stay!

MR CALAMARI

MR CALAMARI

“Hey there Mr Calamari, tell me your life story.”

“Well, as you know most of my cousin’s end up on those human’s plate, especially in the warmer months and those coastal towns are flocked in the summer just to get a taste of us. Lucky my lady friends keep up with the supply of young ones.”

I get it, Mr Calamari, you are a popular choice and most of all you bring joy to those humans, you know. I bet many kids wouldn’t understand how your many legs are the rings on their parent’s plate with a side of those delicious chips that the sea gulls have eyes on. Ha ha.

“Yeah, and what’s worst is they dunk us in that white stuff that has garlic, my buddies who have gone to heaven told me they need to hold their noses as they go for the dive in that aioli, well it’s pretty common to have on the menu with salt and pepper calamari or sided with that massage lettuce! The stuff that’s good for the human’s slippery dip but too squishy for the long-lost friends of mine. But then my long-distance cousins are untouchable as the humans are afraid of them. They are mostly yellow and have blue rings on them. If they go to wave or give a jiggle near the shoreline, they often have to flee for the fact they maybe squashed or sent to heaven early..”

“Yeah, Yeah, I get you. I have seen some of the blue ring octopuses that come back into the deep sea with eyes as big as saucers as they had a close encounter with a human at the beach. Whack whack they say. One of them was shaking as he recalls the story of watching his best friend be buried in the sand. I guess the Blue Rings need to not go to the shore too often. Although many times they are blown in when the seas get rough.”

Maybe my ocean crystal ball is a bit foggy and I believe, one day very soon the humans will take care of the ocean and all things around it, so they may not want fry everything that come out of the ocean as all  we can do is take small steps every day, Hey Mr Calamari?
