NEVER LET THE WEATHER CONTROL YOUR DAY

NEVER LET THE WEATHER CONTROL YOUR DAY

Switzerland, 2008

‘Never let the weather control your day. Even when the glossy magazine shows a lush green hill. You have still made it to the top.’ – Europe Trip 2008

The above quote certainly rang true during my European trip in 2008, plus I was often saying to my Spanish friend, ‘Never let the weather control your day!’

In truth if you allow the weather to dictate your life when being outside brings you new ideas in magical ways. While you can walk, run, jump or dance in your local park for pure grounding, you cannot be controlled. It has to flow.

While nature absorbs anger, we need it more now than ever as we do the inner work with includes facing that ugly part of ourselves first. Perhaps meditating by the creek is your jive otherwise find other ways to do things especially on the days when the weather is on your side.

Although Melbourne lockdowns were challenging, I did find myself going for long walks to be outside and avoid being cornered off in a room when sharing. Then when I moved to a converted garage, I figured I had to work with the weather indeed. Including having the washing under control on the good days as my space was tiny and there came days when it wasn’t worth leaving the cave, even for a walk.

Next time you catch up with a friend meet them for a stroll oppose to a seat in a local café. Being in sync with the weather not against is your lesson. It takes time to master and once you do, you’ll be surprised how things pan out.

Because healing is currently taking place, walk among the trees whenever possible. That can be completed any time of the day, so why let the weather control you?

Learn to work with it by listening to that inner voice of what days to wash, shop or tend the garden the more magic will flow your way.

I certainly don’t let the weather control me…

Only when fitness was outside tee hee.
