BROKEN PROMISES
Are you a person who gives people broken promises?
Seriously this is something I’ve struggled with for many years and goes back to my teenage years. Especially the time when my father was driving us up to World Expo in 1988 and we decided to drive through a small town called Minyip.
Yes, that famous Victorian town which was the home for the popular television show ‘The Flying Doctors.’ While the day we left dad wouldn’t stop, ‘we’ll stop on the way back,’ he says. As you can guess the promise was broken when we arrived on our way back to a town that was being drenched in heavy rain that we couldn’t even get out of the car!
Hmmm well I never got the opportunity to take photos of a favourite childhood icons after that. Then even when I was married I got broken promises one after the other for long while. ‘I help you when we get home,’ he would say just a great way to ‘end’ the conversation, especially when away with others.
Then comes the times when people say ‘let’s catch up,’ ‘I’ll call you back’ and many other ways of avoiding the most important thing in life of not making them in the first place.
Broken promises leads to broken hearts and a difficult job to trust others in the long run. SO I suggest if you are somebody who is leaving a trail of broken promises or suffer at the hands of one, then you need to look within yourself to figure out why you are behaving this way.
Maybe it’s something you haven’t realised until right NOW.
