WALKING HOME FROM WORK
Flashback to 2016…
Since walking home I have managed to save $3.90, while I set myself a goal to walk home from work in the city, I used my train fair money to pay down my credit card.
Then when I left that residence towards the end of a Melbourne autumn in 2017, I still kept my up my walking challenged only my original walk of an hour turned into painful two hours. While I walked home every day through the winter months, I got to learn a lot of things in my time of walking.
Here are some of the things I learnt in that time.
-It’s better for the environment
-See things on the way
-You have better connection of what is happening with the traffic and local surroundings
-Money to work on your goals
-Find other ways to do things i.e. where to shop or do errands elsewhere
-Take photos
-Find objects or sniff flowers
-Appreciate other gardens and houses
-Exercise is done for the day
-Learn to pray when weather isn’t on your side
-Enjoy being able to walk home from work
Like many we would all love to be able to walk to work, although that is still a goal of mine. However nearly all or most people will be working from home in the future.
Honestly I can’t wait.
So while you can, enjoy the work you have and find ways to make your working world into your life via being in nature.
The best way to discover places is..
On foot.
I believe.
